Diigo iPad app and iPhone app available

Diigo—a program that lets users annotate and save Web pages—is now available as an iPad application.  An iPhone version of the app has been available since 2009.

Diigo installs a  “diigolet” bookmark in browsers—including in the iPad’s Safari browser—which brings up a toolbar that lets them highlight or take notes on Web pages. Those notes are saved to Diigo’s cloud, and can be downloaded to the app and viewed offline.

Bookmarked Web pages can also be directly accessed and highlighted from within the app. Diigo also lets users tag entries, and to search their Diigo files by tag, title, or highlighted content. The company calls the iPad app “early beta version,” with updates to come soon.

Diigo for iPad is free, and compatible with any iPad running iOS 3.2 or later.
